01 June 18:00 PDMRO (Dog Find) John Coombs (Biscuit), Steve Ward (Bryn), Ian Bunting (Tyke) and Wayne Thackray (Dodge) were called to assist Edale MRT in a search for a despondent 68 year old male, located deceased by Search Dog Dodge and Wayne

 

18 Dec SWERA Dog Find 1 person   Matt Robertson (Scoot), Dave Humphrey (Rusty) and Jamie Reading (Indie) were called to assist Dartmoor SRT Okehampton in a search for a 83 year old despondent male, all three dogs showed interest in a large fish pond, Search Dog Scoot then indicated at a run off pipe, Police Underwater search team recovered the body of the gent the next day near to the run off pipe

 

23 Nov PDMRO Dog Find 3 persons John Coombs (Biscuit), Ian Bunting (Tyke), Dave Mason (Megan), Ian Burley (Anya)  and Wayne Thackray (Dodge) were called to assist Buxton MRT in a search for 3 walkers who had telephoned Police to report themselves lost and benighted on Kinder. The Police helicopter reported a possible heat source, but was unable to pinpoint as they were running low of fuel. Located by Search Dog Tyke and Ian safe and well and escorted off the hill

 

01 Nov SWERA Dog Find 1 person Alex Lyons (Max), Nicki Lyons (Cavos) and Alan Hill (Sunny) were called to assist Dartmoor SRT Okehampton in a search for a 79 year old woman, missing from home for two days, she was located by Search Dog Max and Alex, very cold and unable to stand. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/7704035.stm

 

29 Oct NESRA Dog Find 2 People and 1 dog Brian Allport (Gem) were called to assist Northumberland National Park SRT in a search for two people and their dog, benighted on the hill. Located by Search Dog Gem and Brian safe and well and escorted off the hill.

 

18 Oct SWERA Dog find 1 person Dave Humphrey (Rusty) were called to assist Exmoor SRT in a continuation of the search for the despondent female. Located cold but well by Search Dog Rusty and Dave. 17 Oct SWERA Dave Humphrey (Rusty) were called to assist Exmoor SRT in a search for a despondent female when her car was located in woodland after she had threatened to self harm.  Stood down with nothing found.

 

03 Aug NESRA Dog Find - 1 person Peter Thompson (Hamish) were called to assist North of Tyne SRT in a search for a 76 year old man missing from home, he was located very cold and weak by Search Dog Hamish and Peter, having fallen down an embankment and unable to get back up.

 

22 June NESRA Dog Find - 1 person Des Toward (Misty), Paul Fell (Holly) and Paul Renwick (Skye) were called to assist Teesdale & Weardale SMRT in a search for a vulnerable male missing form home, located safe and well by Search Dog Holly and Paul Fell.

 

21 June 08 SWERA Dog find 5 people Catherine Jones (Jilly) and Nicki Lyons (Cavos) were called to assist Dartmoor Search and Rescue team Tavistock to in a search for 5 inexperienced hikers whose tent was leaking and one of them had a leg injury. They were located by Search Dog Jilly and Catherine cold and wet and escorted off the moor.

 

15 May 2008 SWERA DOG FIND - 1 Person Nicki Lyons (Cavos) were called to assist Exmoor SRT in the search for a missing 75 year old female from Dulverton in Somerset. The lady, who had been staying with family in the area, had wandered off and was last seen heading in the direction of some local woodland by a member of the public. Following 4 hours of searching, search Dog Cavos showed a great amount of interest in a particular area but due to the lack of wind was unable to give a fix on it. The Search Dog team then located footprints that matched the footwear the misper was wearing. The area was immediately flooded with foot teams and the lady was located deceased approx 500 mtrs from the location of interest shown by Cavos. Located by Search Dog Cavos and Nicki Lyons.

 

13 May 2008 NESRA DOG FIND - 1 Person Paul Fell (Holly), John O'Doherty (Nut) and Paul Renwick (Skye) were called to assist Teesdale and Weardale SMRT in a search for despondent male, located safe and well by Search Dog Holly and Paul Fell.

 

30 April 2008 NESRA DOG FIND - 1 Person Des Toward (Misty) were called to assist Teesdale & Weardale SMRT in a search for a male with a dislocated knee, he was evacuated by Air Ambulance, his wife and dog located by Search Dog Misty and Des Toward and walked back to her car.

 

26 March 2008 PDMRO Dog Find 6 persons Dave Mason (Megan), Ian Bunting (Tyke) and John Coombs (Biscuit) were called to assist Buxton MRT in a search for a group of 6 males reported lost and benighted on Kinder Scout with insufficient equipment to last out for a night during the prevailing snow storm. Three teams and three dogs searched all routes on to the plateau and the edge path itself. Party located by Search Dog Megan and Dave Mason safe and well and escorted off the hill by searching sections. BBC News Report

 

11 Jan 2008 MPSRO DOG FIND - 1 Person Andy Colau (Tara) along with Iain Nicholson (Mij - SARDA Wales trailing dog) were called to assist Bowland Pennine MRT in the search for a missing 66 year old in Garstang, Lancashire.  Iain and Mij trailed the missing person to the edge of a nearby canal, and later in the search Andy and Tara had indications on the canal downstream from where the end of the trail had been indicated by Mij. The missing persons body was recovered by police divers a short distance down stream the next day.

 

1 Jan 2008 PDMRO DOG FIND - 5 Persons Ian Bunting (Tyke), Steve Ward (Bryn), Dave Mason (Meg) and John Coombs (Biscuit) were called to assist Edale and Buxton MRTs locate a group of 5 lost in Mist on Kinder.Scout. Group located by Ian Bunting and Tyke in Ladybrooth Brook below Rowland Cote Moor, Kinder. One of the party was suffering from abdominal pain after a recent operation and was evacuated off the hill by stretcher.
