Richard Hey (Molly) and Des Toward (Misty) were called to assist Swaledale
MRT in a search for a 13 year old boy who had absconded from a Hostel, last seen
heading on to the moorland, located by staff back in his bedroom.
19 Aug PDMRO
Ian Bunting (Tyke) and John Coombs (Biscuit) were called to assist Edale MRT
to locate a group of DoE youngsters, 2 had stayed with the casualty and 2 had
gone for help, Located by Air Ambulance and injured person evacuated, other 2
escorted off the hill by Edale MRT members.

Alex Lyons (Max), Nicki Lyons (Cavos) and Catherine Jones (Jilly) were
called to assist Dartmoor SRT Tavistock in a search for a 69 year old man
overdue from a walk on Dartmoor, located safe and well after becoming benighted
by DSRT Tavistock members.

female, stood down on route.

MRT in a search for missing 25 year old male with learning difficulties who had
become separated from his group. located safe and well by Police.

MRT in a search for a 86 year old woman missing from home, her body was located
by a member of the public the next day in Lake Windermere.

stood down after extensive search when his mobile telephone was pinged near
London.

a despondent female, she was trailed from home and found cold and wet by SARDA

navigationally challenged family. The group were located safe and well making
there way off the hill.

for a 25 year old despondent male missing from hospital, stood down with nothing
found after a search of woodland had been completed.

for a 81 year old female with Alzheimer's missing from home, found cold and wet
by members of BPMRT.

Peter Thompson (Hamish) were called to assist
North of Tyne SRT in a search for a 76 year old man missing from home,
he was located very cold and weak by Search Dog Hamish and
Peter, having fallen down an embankment and unable to get back up.

located safe and well by a member of his family

to assist Derby MRT in a search for a despondent 43 year old male, after a local
farmer had found a car with a hose pipe connected to the exhaust and the man had
run away, he was located by a member of the public and evacuated to hospital.

Richard Hey (Molly) and Paul Renwick (Skye) were called to assist Cleveland
SRT in a search for a 66 year old man overdue on a 20 mile walk, his body was
located the next day out of the search area by the local gamekeeper.

(Gyp) continuation of the search from the previous day, stood down after
extensive searching over the two days with nothing found.

(Gyp) were called to assist SARDA Wales in a search for a male patient with
Dementia last seen on the A5 in Ogwen Valley, stood down after extensive
searching over two days with nothing found.

Alex Lyons (Max), Nicki Lyons (Cavos), Matt Robertson (Amber), Catherine
Jones (Jilly), Alan Hill (Sunny) and Dave Humphrey (Rusty) were called to assist
Dartmoor SRT Ashburton in a search for a despondent male missing from home, when
his car was found in a car park on Dartmoor. He was located unconscious and
evacuated to hospital by Police helicopter. When walking back to the control,
the dogs were put on standby for Exmoor SRT, but stood down just as teams got
back to their cars.

a 87 year old man missing from home, stood down after extensive search with
nothing found.
14 July PDMRO (Found Lost Dog)
John Coombs (Biscuit) were called to assist Edale MRT in a search for a
missing dog, nothing was found and teams stood down, on the 15th John and other
Edale team members continued the search, early in the after noon Biscuit showed
a distinctive interest, which resulted in the John finding the dog down a very
narrow shaft, Cave Rescue were called and the dog was recovered safe and well.

& Ryedale MRT in a search for a despondent 37 year old female, stood down after
8 hours of searching with nothing found.

were called to assist Dartmoor Search and Rescue team Tavistock to in a search
for 5 inexperienced hikers whose tent was leaking and one of them had a leg
injury. They were located by Search Dog Jilly and
Catherine cold and wet and escorted off the moor.

from by her home help, located by Police in Hospital having been admitted by her
GP the day before.

Alex Lyons (Max) and Nicki Lyons (Cavos) were
called to assist Cornwall SRT in a search for a missing 61 year old woman.
She was found by Search Dog Cavos and Nicki,
medically treated for hypothermia then taken to hospital by ambulance.

(Bryn) were called to assist Edale MRT in a search for 2 29 year old females,
who had telephoned Police to report themselves lost and injured. Located by
members of Buxton MRT hypothermic and one with a broken ankle.
15 May 2008 SWERA DOG FIND - 1 Person
Nicki Lyons (Cavos) were called to assist Exmoor SRT in the search for a missing
75 year old female from Dulverton in Somerset. The lady, who had been staying
with family in the area, had wandered off and was last seen heading in the
direction of some local woodland by a member of the public. Following 4 hours of
searching, search Dog Cavos showed a great amount of interest in a particular
area but due to the lack of wind was unable to give a fix on it. The Search Dog
team then located footprints that matched the footwear the misper was wearing.
The area was immediately flooded with foot teams and the lady was located
deceased approx 500 mtrs from the location of interest shown by Cavos.

unit, located safe and well by police at friends address.

Stephen MRT in a search for a group of 6 after they had reported themselves lost
and ill equipped, when caught out by low cloud. They again telephoned police to
report themselves on a path and happy to return to the road head. Dogs and teams
redeployed to search the path. No sign of the group was found, however a very
similar group was found drunk in a derelict farm house, They claimed no
knowledge of a lost group and denied reporting themselves lost.

Ambulance Control asking us to search for 2 Ambulance staff that they had sent
to the previous callout, they had just telephoned to say they were lost in the
mist. Found save and well by members of Dartmoor SRT Tavistock.

was reported that one was suffering with hypothermia, team managed to make their
own way back to their van.

area by a neighbour driving around looking for him.

and Des Toward (Misty) were called by Cleveland SRT when walkers heard someone
calling for help and unable to locate. As no one was reported missing and
following a search by a RAF helicopter the dogs were stood down before being
deployed.

Richard Hey (Molly), John O'Doherty (Nuts) and Paul Fell (Holly)
were called to assist Northumberland MRT search for a missing group of 3
off-duty Policemen who had gone out for an evening walk, at approximately 20:45
one of the group sent a text message to his home saying that they were lost.
A family member contacted the Police. Mountain Rescue initiated a seacrh and
called for Sarda Search dogs and the RAF helicopter. The dog teams were stood
down en-route when the missing group were located at the top of the Cheviot by
the RAF helicopter.

Simon Adams (Pip) were called at 23:00 to assist Oldham MRT in a search for
a 90 year old male missing from home. Found safe and well by Police at his
sisters house the next day.

casualty was found by members of Cleveland SRT before dogs were deployed.

previous callout were called to assist Dartmoor SRT Okehampton in a search for a
group training for Ten Tors. It was reported that one had fallen and broke her
ankle. Located and taken to hospital by RAF Helicopter.

search for a group of 6 scouts when it was reported that one was suffering from
chest pains. Located by members of DSRT Tavistock and taken to hospital by RAF Helicopter.

MRT in a search for a 84 year old male missing from home. Police divers
recovered a body from a river, it is believed to be that of the missing person.

were called to assist Dartmoor SRT Plymouth in a search for a 15 year old girl
missing from home. Stood down as being deployed when the missing person returned
home.

Alex Lyons (Max), Nicki Lyons (Cavos), Alan Hill (Sonny) and Dave Humphries (Storm)
were called to assist Dartmoor Search and Rescue (Ashburton) in a search of a
Country Park, after a gardener saw a young female in a distressed state, covered
in blood. Stood down after six hours of searching nothing found and no one
reported missing. Police enquires still ongoing.

called to assist Exmoor SRT in a search for a missing from home 9 year old
child, stood down on route when found safe and well by Police.

Andy Colau (Tara) were called at 20:00 to assist Bowland Pennine MRT search for
a missing 80yr old female in Wheelton near Chorely, the missing person suffers
from Alzheimer’s . The team where tasked to search an area of fields, canal
bank and thick vegetation. The search was terminated without a find at 16:00
when search objectives were completed.

after an argument. Missing person was located in Burnley by Police as dog team
was deploying to search area.

Andy Colau (Tara) were called at 08:00 to assist UWFRA search open moor above
Denton village for a missing 40yr old male. He was located (deceased) by a
Police dog handler.
24 February 2008 PDMRO
Dave Mason (Meg), Steve Ward (Bryn) and Ian Bunting (Tyke)
were called to assist Woodhead MRT to
search for missing, 42 year old female who had been missing overnight. Search
dog units were stood down en-route to the incident when the misper was located
(semi-conscious) near to the Trans-pennine trail. After stabilizing at the scene
she was flown to Barnsley General Hospital by the Police helicopter.

Richard Hey (Molly) were called to assist Swaledale MRT at Arkengarthdale Moor
above Swaledale by walking party who had become separated from two members of
their group whilst trying to cross a flooded gill. Search manager on scene
within 20 minutes; as searchers were about to deploy the two walkers navigated
their own way to the Tan Hill Pub and were reunited with the group.

Richard Hey (Molly) were called at 09:05 to assist Swaledale MRT to search for
male missing after leaving a public house in Askrigg late at night to walk home
to Hawes. Stood down almost immediately when the man turned up at home.

to search for a 20yr old male missing near Bridgerule. Teams stood on route when
he was located by Police.

a nursing home reported hearing a cry for help. Team deployed with Police

Dave Humphrey (Storm) Called at 09:45 to assist Exmoor MRT to search Alcombe
Woods for missing mountain biker. The biker was located by Police in a fit but
inebriated condition in a local Public house at 13:00 the search was then stood
down.

30 January 2008 NESRA
Paul Renwick (Skye) and Des Toward (Misty) John O’Doherty (Nutt) and Paul Fell
(Holly) called at 21:10 to assist Teesdale & Weardale MRT to search for a
missing male suffering with depression, who had been missing since the 25th.
Following a TV appeal on the 30th a game keeper reported seeing the man at the
grouse butts. The search was completed at 03:00 without the missing person
being located.

Andy Colau (Tara) and Richard Hey (Molly) called at 07:30 to assist Keswick MRT
to search for a missing Female suffering with depression. She was located
deceased 10 mins after the dog team arrived at Keswick team base.

Dave Mason (Meg), Steve Ward (Bryn) and John Coombs (Biscuit) were called at
23:00 to assist Woodhead
MRT and
South Yorkshire Police
to search for missing,
43 year old male last seen earlier that afternoon. Misper’s had recently
undergone heart surgery. Mispers car was located at Tankersley golf course where
he had a hobby of collecting golf balls from the undergrowth. Quick searches
with police units and police dogs had failed to locate the misper. Two over
passes with the police helicopter looking for heat sources in or near the stream
failed to turn up results. We were first tasked to first search an area of
woodland to the west of the course and then to re-search an area on the golf
course previously covered by a MRT section. Megan provided two strong
indications in an area of thick undergrowth but couldn’t locate a source. Area
flagged as a high priority for re-search at first light. The misper was located
(unfortunately deceased) in the area of Megan’s indications by an MRT section at
0800.

Paul Renwick (Skye), Des
Toward (Misty), Paul Fell (Holly) and Lee Ferry (Bracken) were called at
10:00 to assist Teasdale and Weardale MRT to search either side of the river
Wear from the waters edge to 20m of bank side for 5Km for a male who had been
seen by a member of the public to jump off the viaduct in Bishop Auckland.
Skye indicated on a large strainer, which was searched by Swift Water Rescue
Technicians and police divers. Due to the conditions of the water both teams
withdrew form the search for safety reasons and the strainer is yet to be
cleared.

Alex lyons (Max), Nicki Lyons (Cavos),
Matt Robertson (Amber), Catherine Clarke (Jilly)(Tara) and Steve Ward
(Bryn) were called at 08:30 to assist Cockermouth MRT and Sarda Lakes in the
search for a 64
year old man with health problems was reported missing from a Wigton nursing
home. As the dog handlers arrived at the Police staion the man was FOUND by
Searchdog Dottie (Kaz Brush) of Sarda Lakes in an area of dense woodland in a
severely hypothermic state and transported to hospital.

Dave Humphrey (Rusty) Andy Colau (Tara) were called to assist Bowland Pennine
MRT in a search for a 40 year old man. The Bowland Pennine trailing dog found a
jacket then went into the water and indicated. Later Rusty indicated in the
water 30 feet down from the trailing dog’s indication. Body recovered
from that location by Police underwater search unit
on the 6th Feb.

Bunting (Tyke) and John Coombs (Biscuit) were called at 21:00 to assist
Derbyshire Police and Derby
MRT to search for missing, 42 year old male last seen walking his dog earlier
that afternoon. Misper’s dog was located by a stream that was in spate in
Alfreton. Quick searches with police units and police dogs had failed to locate
the misper. Megan provided an indication on the Northern side of the stream and
Tyke gave an indication further down stream on the opposite side. An over pass
with the police helicopter looking for heat sources in or near the stream failed
to turn up results. The search was stood down at 0400 without result. The misper
was located (unfortunately deceased) further down stream (approx 750m outside of
the search area) at first light by a member of the public.

January 2008 MPSRO DOG FIND -
1 Person
Andy Colau (Tara) along with Iain Nicholson (Mij - SARDA Wales trailing dog)
were called to assist Bowland Pennine MRT in the search for a missing 66 year
old in Garstang, Lancashire. Iain and Mij trailed the missing person to
the edge of a nearby canal, and later in the search Andy and Tara had
indications on the canal downstream from where the end of the trail had been
indicated by Mij. The missing persons body was recovered by police divers a
short distance down stream the next day.

Andy Colau (Tara) and Kev Stead (Gyp) were called to search for a male who
had become separated from his walking group during the day. The missing
person was located safe and well as the dog team arrived.

DOG FIND - 5 Persons
Ian Bunting (Tyke), Steve Ward (Bryn), Dave Mason (Meg) and John Coombs
(Biscuit) were called to assist Edale and Buxton MRTs locate a group of 5 lost
in mist on Kinder.Scout. Group located by Ian Bunting
and Tyke in Ladybrooth Brook below Rowland Cote Moor, Kinder. One of
the party was suffering from abdominal pain after a recent operation and was
evacuated off the hill by stretcher.
