Search Dog Megan (Meg for short) was born in December 2004. She achieved initial search dog qualification in June 2007 and full search dog in January 2009. Megan has been a very active search dog with a number of very good operational finds to her name and also a number of injuries sustained in the line of duty!

In December 2015 Megan received a commendation from the Chief Constable of Derbyshire Police after her incredible find of a concealed murder victim. Her find and subsequent investigation lead to the apprehension and conviction of a dangerous offender who may otherwise have gone on to kill again.

Primarily Megan is a family pet who lives at home with her handler Dave, his wife Gemma and their young daughter Amelia together with their other dog and pet, an English Pointer called Tango. Megan goes everywhere with Dave and is equally at home at crags, walking hills or mountains or indeed snoozing on the pub floor!

Dave is a member of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team and is also an Incident Controller for the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation
